Crusades

Putnam Correctional Institution

This was one for the history books of Inmate Encounter. It appeared that all hope was lost with Tomoka CI canceling Friday’s scheduled event when God showed up and delivered us an awesome warden who lovingly welcomed Inmate Encounter. Warden Jeffery Howell and his team participated throughout the entire event; they came alongside and demonstrated a Christian approach to incarceration. Warden Powell – 3rd from right above was the last man standing when we rolled out of the parking lot.  His parting words were, we look forward to seeing you again real soon. All of this couldn’t have happened without Statewide Volunteer Coordinator Jordan Moyer who, upon hearing about the cancellation, sprung into action and came together with Warden Powell in offering up a replacement. Not only did Ms. Moyer help with a replacement, but she also traveled from Tallahassee to attend the event and meet the team in person. Both Warden Powell and Jordan Moyer are working the front lines in bringing faith-based initiatives into Florida prisons, and we sincerely appreciate you coming alongside us.
